Hi, everyone! I hope you're having a nice spring.
I know a lot of people have asked about, and been interested in,
upcoming bootcamps on Plone.
I have listed courses in:
- Seattle (regular and advanced bootcamp, in June)
- Chapel Hill, North Carolina (regular and advanced bootcamp, in late
July and August)
You can find these listed, and can register, at
http://plonebootcamps.com/. (I also
have planned upcoming classes in
Oxford, UK, and San Francisco, but those are in the very late summer,
and less likely to be convenient for DC people)
I'm strongly considering a DC class for Jul 14-18. This would be the
regular bootcamp, a 5-day, what-you-need-to-know-to-build-a-Plone-site
class. It's updated for Plone 3 and 3.1, but is also very useful for
Plone 2.0-2.5 users, as well. It's my most popular offering, and
something that about half of ZPUG people have gone through.
I'm a little concerned that I'd be offered three regular bootcamps in
the span of about 8 weeks. I'm not sure that there's enough audience to
justify that.
I'd like to know:
- if you think it's likely that you or people from your organization
would come, please email me with an estimate of your attendance.
I won't hold you to it, or even spam you about it -- I just want
a rough idea.
- if you'd be more interested in the advanced bootcamp (a 4 day course
that presumes significant Plone experience, and covers more developer-
focused issues), let me know that. It's *not* possible, schedule-wise,
for me to offer both in DC in July.
- if you/your company -really wants- a DC class, and can -commit- to
a certain number of students, let me know that, too!
I don't have final costs for a DC class, but, for these purposes, assume
about $500-550 per student.
You can send me these estimates to joel(at)joelburton.com.
Thanks! I'll email the list in 2-3 days with a final decision on whether
I'll be able to do this.
Best,
- j.
