Database Programmer for Systems Administration and Engineering

The responsibility is to extract and normalize the data from several
sources that describe all of the company's internal computing assets,
and manage the database that is created from it.

DESCRIPTION:

The position requires a high degree of technical proficiency and
familiarity with software and network security issues as well as systems
administration experience. The candidate must be familiar with data
mining and data correlation for exploit analyses. 

The environment consists of a large number of servers running SunOS,
AIX, RedHat Linux, and SUSE Linux. The role requires extensive
experience securing multiple UNIX servers.

REQUIREMENTS:
Strong UNIX understanding, network programming principles, host-based
security procedures; Korn shell and strong Python scripting required.
MySQL and Oracle database understanding required.  

The role will require managing disparate data sources and correlating
them is an single repository. Pentaho experience is desired. 

Security-conscious coding practices and understanding of how malicious
code can take advantage of security vulnerabilities; Networking
protocols (TCP/IP); Familiarity with service protocols (HTTP, HTTPS,
SSL, SSH, SMTP, POP3, DNS, FTP); Encryption and authentication
fundamentals as well as a good understanding of cryptographic standards.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.
