some cities can support that; some can't. Is there a local Zope or Python
group in town?

I don't know of any decent, reputable online learning for Plone; the places
I've seen are sketchy, we've-never-heard-of-them online learning mills. A
better idea is to the look at one of two Plone books: either "Plone Content
Management Essentials" or "Plone Live" (both good, and reasonably up to
date).

Of course, one of the reasons why people have tried to keep the bootcamp costs
low is to make it affordable for people to come to the class, even if held
elsewhere. So, perhaps one of the upcoming camps (North Carolina, San
Francisco, or (possibly) Portland would work?)

I've taught about 6 of these publically (they're based on private, corporate

They've all been 5 days, all roughly had the same material (updated, of
course, over the past year or so). The price has varied based on the expenses
and demand, but they've all been in the several-hundred, not several-thousand

I am up for Treasurer again. If there is a coffee shop or something in a
central location where we could talk for about 30min that would be
great. Other option is to meet in the conference room at my work, if
that is convenient enough for people.

I am flexible regarding time/location--as long as we could do it
Wednesday I will accommodate anything else!

Are some of you folks who did the last one planning on taking a new
version?

I'm feeling like a dork cuz I really haven't done anything with what I
got from the previous one. I just haven't had the time or a real
project which got me to beat on it. I've just set up a coupld small
sites that I'm using for out of the box CMS stuff. I haven't built
any content types with ArchGenXML, or customized a workflow, or built
a product. Now that I'm somewhat comfortable with Python, I'd like to
get into these.

I probably could benefit from another boot in the ... from another
bootcamp, especially if it spent some time on these kind of things.
The hands-on of the previous was most helpful.

I echo that sentiment, though one idea that I'd like to throw out is to
spend a bit more hands on time with IDE environments. I just figured out
how to get eclipse set up with the PyDev extensions, and copied files
into the workspace from my Plone instance. Unfortunately I don't really
know where to go from there! Getting help setting up launch points and
unit tests would be sweet.

Alex - can we get another opinion poll?

What I would be interested is in some form of 1/2 say to 1 day segments so
that become a bit more a la carte for folks to pick and choose (particularly
advanced topics)...

I would like to see how many others may want such a thing. Say 3 days of
basics, then more specialized topics based on what people are doing...

Also, I imagine with enough notice, we could host it here at SAIC.
