Migration to 2.1.1 question

I am in the process of getting my plone 2.0.5 site ready for a
migration to 2.1.1. Based on postings I've read about the migration,
I have uninstalled a custom product build with archetypes and deleted
from within Plone all the folders containing instances of this
product. But, when I look at the portal_catalog in the ZMI, the
instances are still included. Do I need to delete all of the
instances from the catalog or do an update before trying the
migration? Thanks,

David

I'm just *guessing*, but I think that you can either update the catalog
or manually delete the entries to achieve the same result.

The old catalog entries might cause you some problems in general,
but I think that would be the case regardless of whatever upgrade attempts you
are making.

So yes, update catalog, then migrate IMHO :-)

I just answered my own question. I had to go to portal_catalog/
Advanced and run the update catalog. that got rid of the catalog
entries corresponding to the deleted content objects.
