Mini Sprint idea: Upgrade zpugdc.org to 2.1?

Dear fellow zpugsters:

The zpugdc.org web site is running Plone 2.0.5; it might be a good exercise to
upgrade this to 2.1. If people wanted to team up to do that as a group, it
would be a change for everyone to learn about the new features of 2.1, as
well, as the migration path.

I'd be happy to be around to answer any questions if people get stuck, and I'm
sure other people on #plone would be as well.

Whatcha think? We up to it?

- j.

Joel,

Possibly. It's certainly a chance to revisit the "website mission" and see what
kind of interest we can muster.

What's the story with shell account access?
If I can grab the Data.fs I wouldn't mind starting the process and possibly
demo'ing some initial findings at the next ZPUGDC meeting. Then we could
plan a mini sprint based on what needs to be done.

Good suggestion, thanks!

Alex

P.S. I'd also like to add that 2.1 is *much nicer*, and addictive like
once-you-try-you-have-to-buy (so to speak)!

P.P.S. I'd also like to add (again) that I think the conversion to
ATContentTypes
will be the big task. I've imported some CMF Types into 2.1 and they don't
play nice at all (in my limited experience). It would be nice if the Plone
migration handled this, but I'm not sure that it does. Not to mention that
sometimes you just want to migrate the types and not an entire site.

I'm up for it. I'll be out of the country for a while next week but
certainly willing to help if my schedule permits. I've migrated a
couple small sites to 2.1rc* -- some went swimmingly, some still have
problems that I haven't resolved. But I'm happy to help where I can.
