Seeming how we all just got out of a week long class maybe we should  
go over things that are relevant to the training while it is still  
fresh in our minds. I think consulting advice can wait for now. Just  
a thought. I also think it would be a good idea to talk about the  
future of ZPUG as Joel will soon be leaving. Of particular interest  
our relationship with Porter Novelli, future bootcamps, breakout  
sessions, finding speakers etc.

Another topic that I'd be interested (not for this coming week) in is  
how to install Unix products (e.g. GraphViz) that the Plone/Zope  
environment can use.  In particular, I'm interested in this for Mac OS  
X.  This is related to Jule's great notes on installing Zope/Plone from  
scratch for Mac OS X.  I'm a unix newbie so all of this would be very  
helpful to me.  I'm not sure how many others would benefit, but I'm  
guessing at least a few.

i have a presentation i could give on java/plone integration. i've made 
some interestin' structures for easily deploying XMLHTTP request based 
non-refresh-zope-integrated-neato-stuff. it would be informal, with not 
much in the way of presentation materials, but i can give a talk on it.

If you are going this route you should become familiar with a few things:

1. Apple's XCode - Available from the Panther/Tiger media or the Apple
Developer website.
Contains the gcc compiler for compiling stuff.

2. Fink - available at fink.sourceforge.net. Allows you to install unix
software easily 
either via compiling it or installing binaries. Graphviz is available this way.


3. DarwinPorts - available at darwinports.opendarwin.org. Same concept as fink,
considered
better by some, I like it because it installs the latest version of Subversion
whereas fink
installs an older version.

Gentoo is also available for OS X now. Apparently it has more than 40  
developers - more than Gentoo itself. I installed it and so far it  
works like a charm - and without creating separate directory branches  
like fink. I would love to hear other's experiences with Gentoo on OS  
X if any of you have been using it.
