Jonah reminded me that I should post the sprint info to the ZPUG list.

There is a sprint scheduled for the CanDo project starting tomorrow morning at
9:00. The CanDo project is developing education administration software that
will be used by the state of Virginia and by the DOL. The project is using
Plone. We have a nice start on the registration software, which was borrowed
from work done for the OSHA Training Institute. Hope you can join us at the
sprint.

Hi,

Just out of curiosity how does this compare to

SchoolTool

or

Moodle?

Cheers,

Mark

I had developed my software to meet a specific need at DOL. I wrote a cleaned
up registration tool that would be shared across agencies within the
department. It is designed to be used with WorkforceConnections, which is a
Zope based application for developing and running online courses.
WorkforceConnections is used by many Federal agencies, such as OSHA, to
conduct training. The CanDo project was funded to meet a specific tracking
requirement for the state of Va. We plan to investigate how to merge the
projects. I had heard of SchoolTools, but hadn't looked at it until you asked
the question. I think we need to install it and give it a good looking over
today. Thanks for prodding me to look it up.

It's php. No thanks.

Happy to hear that you are now looking at SchoolTool a lot of good
people are working on this.
FYI within a week or so ZopeMag will publish a free article on this
project.

I had not heard of WorkforceConnections so this sounds interesting as
well.

I think regardless of the platform its important to analyze what other
systems are getting
right.

Mark
