ZPUGsters:
Our meeting last week went very well -- we had JP Calderone presenting
on Twisted, and providing examples of how very complex things can be
done much more easily with this framework. If you haven't had a
chance to test out Twisted, take some time and do so! It's quite
neat.
We were also lucky enough to have Python/Zope rock star Jim Fulton at
our meeting. He talked about the upcoming Zope 2.8 release, Zope 3
status, and about some nifty changes in the docstring testing
utilities. This was very interesting, and the questions suggest that
a testing presentation would be very welcomed at ZPUG. Anyone
interested in delivering that?
Our next meeting is next Monday, 11/15. I'll be delivering a
presentation on "Debugging Zope and Plone", covering pdb (the
built-in Python debugger), WingIDE, and Boa-Constructor.
Also, Paul Boos will be doing a mini-presentation on getting
applications certified for the defense department. For those of us
who do (or want to do!) government contracting, this should be very
helpful.
Look forward to seeing everyone next Monday --
Best,
- j.
