ZPUGsters:
Tired of spending your nights watching rich white men argue on TV about
how they plan on helping America? ;) [We were at bar that had a
"drink-everytime-Bush-says-'freedom'" rule, so I'm still recovering from
last week!]
Don't miss our ZPUG meeting tomorrow night. We're having Rob Page, CEO
and co-founder of Zope Corporation, presenting on ZC's upcoming products
and strategies. This should be _very_ beneficial for anyone using Zope
or Plone, or considering doing so in the future.
Also, we'll have rock-star sysadmin Scott Burns presenting on using
Python with SpamBayes. Scott and I worked together for a year building
large and cool Zope/CMF-based e-learning portals, and I think he's a
wizard at Unix and Linux system administration.
Things are quite busy in the Zope/Plone world: if you haven't noticed,
I've forward 3 consulting requests to this list in the past week, all of
companies who've chosen Plone and are looking for technicians. In the
meantime, I've been trying to balance my consulting with more Plone
training, and have been working with universities and governments
choosing Plone. Let's hope this trend continues!
Reminder: we do have lots of open training slots, especially for our
Zope/Plone nights. If you haven't presented (or if you have!), _please_
consider presenting! You don't need to be an expert: just have a
product, idea, or technique you want to show off or ask questions about.
It's _very_ helpful for me to have presentations in advance (and helps
everyone else in scheduling!), so I'd like to get some things on the
calendar for Oct, Nov, and Dec.
If you haven't presented, what would help you do so? More credit for
your presentation? Help refining your topic? Free book from our
publishing friends? If you have ideas on how to get more presenters,
please let me know.
Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow night!
