Hi PyGuys
I've created a PyKu wiki page in my ZPUGDC folder, but I can't figure out
a few things:
1 I used restructured text in the wiki (two colons followed by
indented blocks should show up as literal text blocks, not
justified), but it doesn't work
2 I submitted the wiki page for publication, but don't know how
to make it public.
3 Once the wiki is public, how do I give others permission to
write it.
What's a PyKu? I sent my first one out this morning. Here's a new one:
Guido made Py-do
Not the crust of filled pastry
The Way of Python
Once I figure out how to make that page public,
I'm going to blog (on artima) asking people to submit
their own, and we'll see what happens.
Thanks to Jules for suggesting "Pyku" rather than "Paiku". I'd thought
of that, but didn't like it because I'd hyphenated it. I like PyKu
even better CamelCased.

Subject: [ZPUGDC] Next meeting: This Thursday (EpyDoc) | Mini-presentations?
Greetings, ZPUGsters:
Our next meeting is this Thursday, at 7pm, in the usual place
(http://zpugdc.org/meetings/where/pn)
in downtown DC.
We'll get a presentation from Steve Lambird on EpyDoc and EpyText, a
documentation system for Python code. If you haven't used these, I'd
highly recommend you see his presentation--it's a great way to create
structured documentation for your work (and a great boost for working
consultants to crank out docs!).
We have a slot for mini-presentations open. If you haven't given a mini
presentation yet, please consider doing so. This can be anything, like:
* a review of a python product you like
* showing off a program or site you've built
* a quick tip or practice you like about python
* an open question you want to moderate
* a reading of your latest poem about Python ;)
Future Topics
=============
In late September, we'll be getting a presentation from the people
behind Etria, a Zope/Plone/Python development shop in Baltimore. They're
active members of the community, and have been writing great stuff
recently: a weblogging system, organizing tools, and more. Don't miss
it! (Unless, errr, you're at the Plone Conference, in which case you
have a good excuse...)
In October, our member Scott Burns will be giving a mini-presentation on
using SpamBayes with Python, and we're getting a main presentation from
Rob Page, the CEO of Zope Corporation, on ZC's upcoming plans and
products. This should be a _great_ talk--and I'd love some help getting
the word out!
(And, yes, Rob is giving a Zope-specific talk on our "Python" meeting;
sorry, it was the only way we could schedule this.)
I'm talking now with a school product using Python about giving a
presentation, and with one of the Twisted developers. If you have ideas
for talks, please let me know.
